Born and raised in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Armi is the youngest of 12 children of Primitivo Blancas Oliver and Maria Alvarez Oliver. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and major in Accounting at the Mariano Marcos State University, Philippines. She graduated cumlaude in 1986. She moved to Hawaii in 1989 to join her husband Nestor Caballes Farinas. While working full time, Armi pursued her master’s degree in Business Administration at the Hawaii Pacific University and is a member of Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society. She graduated with honors in January 1994. Armi is an active member/officer of Magsingal Association of Hawaii, Filipino Chamber of Commerce and former member & Board of Director for the National Association of Credit Management, NACM Hawaii, member Honolulu Board of Realtors, HAR and NAR. Armi loves performing declamation and acting and was a winner of Declamation and Best Actress contests in Secondary and College. She also enjoys folk, cha-cha, and hula dancing and is a member of Halau Hula O Hokulani by Kumu Hula Hokulani and Larry De Rego. |
